'Let’s Get Vaccinated!' – Rotaract International Project

‘Let’s Get Vaccinated!’ is an international Rotaract project promoting vaccination against COVID-19.

The campaign is inspired by the very successful Rotary ‘End Polio Now’ project which started in 1988 and has now reduced the number of cases by 99.9%, virtually eradicating the virus worldwide.

As Great Britain and Ireland Rotary website states: “Because of the efforts of Rotary and our partners, nearly 19 million people who would otherwise have been paralysed are walking, and more than 1.5 million people are alive who would otherwise have died.”

As active members of Rotaract, supporting and connecting local and international communities, especially through a pandemic, is essential. Thus, we thought it was important to share Rotary's wider campaign for vaccination due to its positive implications on eventually easing England's current lockdown-status.

Rotaract Club Distretto 2050 emphasises how “Many of our beloved ones got sick, we have seen people die. With this service we can make a difference, we can save lives.”

A vaccine has the ability save lives and help us all return to normality, to socialise in person and hug our loved ones. ‘Let’s Get Vaccinated!’ aims to help educate and reassure those who may have doubts about the vaccine.

The vaccine is safe, effective and will save millions of lives.

“Vaccines save millions of lives each year. Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defences --- the immune system--- to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria they target. If the body is exposed to those disease-causing germs later, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness.”
