It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and member Bethany Privett. Bethany passed away on the 2nd March 2023 after a long battle with depression and her mental health. Bethany was a beloved member of our club and it isn't the same without her. Our thoughts are with her family at this incredibly difficult time.
Bethany's family have started a fundraiser for Mind, a charity which supports those battling with their mental health. If anyone would like to pay their respects we would politely ask you to donate. And to anyone who is struggling with their mental health we have provided some links where you can seek help. You are not alone.
If you are feeling low or having thoughts of harming yourself, you can call Samaritans on 116 123 or the crisis team on 0800 129 9999 for urgent help, or 999 in an emergency. https://www.samaritans.org

A few of our members have put together a short but heartfelt blog post in her memory.
We apologise for the delay in putting out this blog post but as a club we needed time to grieve and mourn.
We knew Bethany through dance in our time at Kennet School and as a fellow member of Rotaract. Although we weren't especially close due to being in different years at school Bethany was always kind and we have fond memories of dancing with her. Bethany was an active member of Rotaract who helped keep this club running and she will be missed greatly. Tulsi and Georgia xx
I first met Bethany at the Duck Race a few years ago, she was always so kind and outgoing. Bethany was so much fun to be around and she will be greatly missed. Lily xx
I knew Bethany from dancing at Kennet School and making friends with her sister Amber. In September 2022 I also started being taught ballet by Bethany at Linden's School of Dance. Bethany was always very kind to me, and when she joined Rotaract I was delighted to have her as part of the team. She was always very involved with Rotaract; taking on the position of treasurer, partaking in our Rotaract Relay in 2021 and providing those crucial feet on the ground at events in Thatcham and Newbury such as the Duck Race and the Santa Fun Run. I was deeply saddened to hear of Bethany's passing and I miss her everyday. Bethany was an amazing teacher, team member, and friend. I know all of us at Thatcham Rotaract and Rotary will miss her, and I hope that wherever you are right now Bethany, that you have found happiness. Kristen xx
