On Sunday 3rd Dec we attended the Santa Fun Run to support the event organised by Thatcham and District Rotary Club, sponsored by UHY-Ross Brooke Chartered Accountants. This family event was to raise money for the community, with Eight Bells for mental health being the main beneficiary.
Eight Bells for mental health is an amazing “voluntary group that provides friendship, support, and a listening ear to people experiencing mental health issues in Newbury, Thatcham, and the surrounding areas.” For more information please visit: https://eightbellsnewbury.co.uk/about
A fantastic sum of over £1,800 was raised which is an amazing effort and will aid this charity in continuing the great work they do around the West Berks area.
The run started from Thatcham Broadway at 11 am, with runners wearing Santa suits in the spirit of Christmas. The run was 5km and despite the rainy weather making it a bit more challenging, there was still plenty of enthusiasm and positivity. On the day members of Thatcham Rotaract helped at the start line and assisted with stewarding.
Overall, it was a great day supporting the community and the great work of Eight Bells.
Kennet Radio was also present and provided runners and supporters with entertainment and race commentary.
Lots of photos were taken on the day and are available to view here: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipO-NcBQPRSY-Vs6kBXJ1OWxI3xFnVVdOycYdngQ2UE9ayuw1sjXwKDEoZlxkUIp6A?key=YVducTQ1ay1lVzFvWlpaUlNrV2NDeE82c3NTcF93
